Lea Michele, Chris Colfer & Cory Monteith Leaving Glee After Season 3

"Glee" creator Ryan Murphy made it clear that the show's graduation exit plans will be executed in which cast regulars like Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Chris Colfer won't be back on the show for a fourth season.

Graduating at end of the third season, Murphy tells THR that “You can keep them on the show for six years and people will criticize you for not being realistic, or you can be really true to life and say when they started the show they were very clearly sophomores and they should graduate at the end of their senior year.”

The cast agreed with Murphy's decision on the character's fate. Murphy shared that “We made that decision and I involved Chris and Lea and they thought that was a good idea. They both trust the writing and trust me and felt that it would be great to have an open and closed experience for them to go out while they were on top.”

Just recently they announced that Chord Overstreet, who played transfer student Sam Evans on the show, will not be returning for the upcoming third season of the hit series "Glee".

More departures are expected to be announced as the show's third season premiere on September 20.

Maybe a spinoff for the departing characters?
