Tina Fey - Vanity Fair January 2009 issue : "A new American Sweetheart!"

Many will surely agree that Tina Fey really curve her name in last US election by spoofing Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

The Saturday Night Live alumna was proclaimed as the new "America's sweetheart" in the latest January 2009 issue cover of Vanity Fair. In the mag, she tells how a Teutonic will transformed a mousy brain into a brainy glamour-puss.

Some highlights of the interview:

About her “Republican parents”: “When I was 18 and registering to vote, my mom’s only instruction was ‘You just go in and pull the big Republican lever.’ That’s my welcome to adulthood. She’s like, ‘No, don’t even read it. Just pull the Republican lever.’”

About the dramatic story of her scar on her cheek: "It’s impossible to talk about it without somehow seemingly exploiting it and glorifying it"

According to her husband Jeff Richmond, it is a result of a violent cutting attack by a stranger when Fey was five.

“It was in, like, the front yard of her house, and somebody who just came up, and she just thought somebody marked her with a pen.”
