It seems Independent films rules the 30th Urian Awards. The event happen at Henry Lee Irwin Theater.
Gina Pareño won the Best Actress award defeating Maricel Soriano, Cherie Pie Picache and other nominees. Gina Pareño’s movie title “Kubrador” won the Best Picture Award, Pareño plays a bet collector for the illegal numbers game "jueteng". Jeffrey Jeturian, the director of the movie “Kubrador” also won best director award.
Mark Gil of the movie “Rotonda” and Rustom Padilla for the movie “Zsa Zsa Zaturnah” was tied in the Best Actor category.
Rafael Roselle of “Rome and Juliet” won the Best Supporting Actor and Meryll Soriano “Rotonda” for Best Supporting Actress.
