Unspeakable tragedy happened during the screening of "The Dark Knight Rises" Friday morning at Century 16 Theater in Aurora, Colorado's Town Center Mall (July 20). A masked gunman went on a shooting rampage killing at least 12 people and wounded 38 more.
The Aurora police arrested the killer, who is reportedly wearing a black outfit, gas mask and bulletproof vest. The cops recovered handguns, a rifle and grenades from the attacker which was identified as 24-year-old James Holmes.
President Obama issued a statement about this tragic incident:
“Michelle and I are shocked and saddened by the horrific and tragic shooting in Colorado. Federal and local law enforcement are still responding, and my Administration will do everything that we can to support the people of Aurora in this extraordinarily difficult time”
"Even as we learn how this happened and who's responsible, we may never understand what leads anybody to terrorize their fellow human beings like this. Such violence, such evil, is senseless. It's beyond reason. While we will never know fully what causes somebody to take the life of another, we do know what makes life worth living."
