Hugh Jackman's "Real Steel" - Robot boxer (First Photos)

Checkout the first two photos of Hugh Jackman's robot boxing flick "Real Steel". USA today reports that "19 real-life animatronic giants were created for scenes with the human actors".
“Real Steel” follows the story of Charlie Kenton (played by Hugh Jackman), a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo) to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.
Directed by Shawn Levy and it will hit the theaters on November 18, 2011.

Hugh Jackman's "Real Steal" boxing

Hugh Jackman is in negotiation to star in a new movie about boxing robots called Real Steel, directed by Shawn Levy for DreamWorks.
Pic is a Rocky-esque tale of a fighter who has to reinvent himself when human boxing becomes obsolete, replaced by 2000 pound human-like robots. Jackman is negotiating to play the ex-fighter, who becomes a Robot Boxing promoter, but whose chances of success are hampered by his access to sub-standard robot parts. That is until he discovers a discarded robot that always seems to win. The ex-fighter has also discovered he's the father of a 13-year old son, and they bond as the robot brawls its way toward the top.
It seems it's not a blockbuster concept but I hope they come up with a great script. Sci-Fi film is always a gamble.

Wolverine knows how to share

Appreciating the support given by his fans, Hugh Jackman thinks that best way to thanked them is by their stomach so the Wolverine purchased packs of food worth $4308.87 for his loyal fans.

According to TMZ, "they have obtained the receipt from Paradise Bakery in Tempe, Arizona -- where Jackman bought 67 breakfast trays and 80 gallons of coffee for a pack of "Wolverine" fans who had camped out in front of a theater the day before Monday's big premiere.

Once Jackman heard about the fans, he promised to buy them breakfast and placed the order late Sunday. We're told Jackman wanted to keep the food order simple and bought platters of bagels, muffins, and croissants."

Generous deeds means good Karma...

"X-Men Origins: Wolverine" premiere Cancelled Due to Swine Flu

It seems the healing capability of Wolverine that allows him to quickly recover cannot guarantee a safe premiere of "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" set for Wednesday in Mexico City.

Twentieth Century Fox has decided to postpone the premiere due to the wide spread and dangerous outbreak of swine flu virus.
The studio's rep. release a statement, "We were not only concerned about Hugh's welfare – and we would never send anyone into harm's way – but we also have an enormous office filled with people we care about. There was no point in proceeding under the current conditions."
The Mexican government has asked for residents to stay home if they have no immediate business concern outside their homes. Reportedly, 150 people are recorded killed with this virus outbreak and still growing.

Tough luck for Hugh Jackman...

Hugh Jackman aka Wolverine Got Milk?; tweet $100,000 donation for charity

It seems Hugh Jackman got his Wolverine strength by drinking Milk. Jackman reprises his mutant role as he sharpen his metal claw and wears the famous milk mustache in latest GOT MILK? ad. It supports and spread awareness on the importance of drinking low fat milk.

The Ad reads, “My power to regenerate might be top secret but my ability to re-energize is simple. Milk has protein to help build muscle and a unique mix of nutrients to help you refuel. So eat right, train hard and drink lowfat milk. That’s just common mutant sense.”

Other superhero who joined the milk mustache previous campaign is Christian Bale with his Batman character.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is ready to ramble on May 1, 2009.

Meanwhile, Jackman tweets that his offering $100,000 to an individual for his/her chosen charity.

more than 2 million watched the unfinished workprint of " X-Men Origins: Wolverine" (Illegal Online -leaked)

Aside from Hugh Jackman's "heartbroken" comment over the Wolverine leaked, 20th Century Fox will now be nervous on the outcome of their ticket sales as Torrent Freak website is now reporting that illegal downloads of the leaked movie has reached over 1,000,000 times. This numbers will be double or triple on the number people who watched or copies and then shared to their friends.
As /film calculates, "Based on TF’s numbers, a conservative estimate would be that 2 million people have watched the illegally downloaded film, which is the box office equivalent of $15-$20 million. Download numbers aside, the big concern was that the unfinished workprint might cause a wave of bad word of mouth that would detour the usual suspects from showing up opening weekend."
This situation will "make it" or "break it" for the movie. With this unfinished leaked movie, it can help to generate buzz and interest to see the full movie or the opposite of it.
