Gene Simmons thinks Adam Lambert killed his career due to his sexual preference

Playful long-tongued Kiss' bassist Gene Simmons feels that American Idol runner up Adam Lambert's career is doomed if he will not stop talking about his sexual preferences.

In his AOL interview, Gene said, "He's enormously talented, best talent 'American Idol' has had, but I think he killed his career because now the conversation is not about his talent but about his sexual preference. He's done. You're forcing people to deal with issues they may not be interested in. Life is unfair, and the masses don't all live in L.A. They live in Wisconsin and Nebraska, and you're on crack if you think the same rules apply there. My advice is still the same, shut the f*** up, just sing and let people say whatever they want. But I do wish him the best because he's got all the talent in the world."

"If only the world was not homophobic, but it is. I would be the first one to vote for equal rights for gay women and men, and get the church and the state to stop telling everybody how to lead their lives, but do I think he's killed his career? Oh, in an instant. I hope I'm completely wrong. I hope he becomes the next Beatles and proves me wrong."

According to Rollingstone, Gene thinks that Adam's voice is better if he sings ballads and Broadway songs.

“Respectfully, I don’t think Adam is a rock singer. He sounds much more convincing singing ballads and Broadway shows. His voice doesn’t seem to have a ‘rock quality.’ But, I’m sure he’s going to do just fine.”

Adam Lambert: "I'm Gay" Rolling Stone Magazine

American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert graces the cover of the latest issue of Rolling Stone Magazine and now he will not keep the public speculating as he proudly announced that he is Gay.

"I don’t think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear I’m gay. I’ve been living in Los Angeles for eight years as a gay man. I’ve been at clubs drunk making out with somebody in the corner.”

Using Rolling Stone to finally reveal his sexuality.

“Right after the finale, I almost started talking about it to the reporters, but I thought, ‘I’m going to wait for Rolling Stone, that will be cooler. I’m proud of my sexuality.”

Adam is eying Kris Allen but he is taken.

“They put me with the cute guy. Distracting! He’s the one guy I found attractive in the whole group on the show: nice, nonchalant, pretty and totally my type — except that he has a wife. I mean he’s open-minded and liberal, but he’s definitely 100% straight.”

AI judge Kara DioGuardi: Adam Lambert is Gay

American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert is implying in his recent interview that he will keep the public speculating about his sexuality but the truth is, answering the sexuality issue in the height of American Idol competition will affect the voters (not favoring him).

With the AI competition is now over, American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi is the first one to confirmed that Adam is indeed Gay.

In her guesting on The View, Kara said, “I don’t think that Adam was ever in [the closet]. I think he was always openly out. I never thought he wasn’t.”

Barbara Walters asked whether Adam's sexuality may have influenced Idol voters...

DioGuardi says, "Well, first of all, I hope not ... because we should be judging on talent and viability in the music industry and they both [Lambert and winner Kris Allen] had that."

Kris Allen won American Idol season 8

He is considered as the dark horse in this season 8 of the American Idol. After a record 100 million votes were cast, Arkansas native Kris Allen was announced this year's winner against the heavily favorite gay rocker Adam Lambert.

After Seacres announced the the winner, the humble Kris Allen can only said, "Adam deserves this. I'm sorry, I don't even know what to feel right now. This is crazy!".

Performance from David Cook, Fergie & The Black Eyed Peas, Keith Urban, Lionel Richie, KISS, Queen Latifah, Carlos Santana, Cyndi Lauper, Jason Mraz, Steve Martin, Rod Stewart, and Queen completed the jam-packed result finale.
