Dick Clark Dies Of Heart Attack; He was 82.

Legendary entertainment host Dick Clark, who earned the nickname "America's Oldest Teenager", died Wednesday morning (April 18) at a hospital after suffering a massive heart attack.


According to his publicist, the 82 year-old icon was in St. John’s Hospital in Los Angeles had a heart attack. He was at the hospital for an outpatient procedure. Attempts to resuscitate were unsuccessful.

Clark hosted the popular “American Bandstand” which gave pop music more massive appeal to public. The famous “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” became a Dec. 31 tradition in New York's Times Square as he host the event for more than three decades.

Clark also suffered "a mild stroke" in December 2004 and was also diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.

Dick Clark Productions which he created has produced game shows, TV shows music programs, and beauty contests, including The $25,000 Pyramid, TV's Bloopers and Practical Jokes, and the American Music Awards.

Clark is married three times and survived by his wife, Kari Wigton, two sons and a daughter.

Dick Clark....RIP.
