“The Artist” was the big winner at the 84th Annual Academy Awards hosted by Billy Crystal, held at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, California (February 26).
“The Artist” bagged Best Picture, Best Actor (Jean Dujardin) and Best Director (Michel Hazanavicius), Best Original Score and Best Costume Design.
Meryl Streep won Best Actress for her role as Margaret Thatcher in the movie “The Iron Lady,” beating Viola Davis.
While Viola Davis failed to bring home a golden statues, her co-star Octavia Spencer took home the Best Supporting Actress for “The Help.”
Christopher Plummer finally got an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor trophy in the “Beginners".
