TV5 is really pumping up the competition as the fast rising network in the Philippines is now teaming up with Regal Multimedia Inc. (RMMI) for future movie projects. Also with this venture, TV5 will be acquiring story rights for some films to be adapted in the small screen.
Press Release: TV5 and Regal Multimedia Inc. (RMMI) recently inked a deal signifying their partnership for a number of TV and movie projects, including a new version of Regal's hit TV show "Regal Shocker" which will be line produced by RMMI for TV5. For movies, RMMI and TV5's movie arm Studio 5 are partnering to co-produce six movies, starting with the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry "Hototay". Apart from this, there is an output deal with RMMI for the airing of their movies on TV5. The Kapatid Network has also licensed from RMMI the story rights for some of Regal's hit movies that will be turned into TV series.
