New York Yankees short-stop Derek Jeter added another record to his unbelievable career in Major League Baseball. He just joined the 3,000 career hits club during Saturday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays at the Yankee Stadium (July 9, 2011).
He became the 28th major league player and the first Yankee to make 3000 hits. The 37 year-old athlete is also the fourth youngest player to achieved this record.
The record home run happened at the third-inning against Tampa Bay southpaw David Price and he finished the game with 5-5.
