Oscar winner Natalie Portman is deeply disgusted with Christian Dior designer John Galliano after a video of him surfaced online expressing an anti-Semitic rant and his love to "Hitler".
Portman, who is the face of Miss Dior Cherie said in a statement:
“I am deeply shocked and disgusted by the video of John Galliano’s comments that surfaced today. In light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way. I hope at the very least, these terrible comments remind us to reflect and act upon combating these still-existing prejudices that are the opposite of all that is beautiful.”
As a result of his action, designer John Galliano has been officially fired by Christian Dior.
Dior's president and CEO Sidney Toledano said in a statement (via WWD), “We unequivocally condemn the statements made by John Galliano, which are in total contradiction to the long-standing core values of Christian Dior.”
Aside from the video footage, John was recently suspended from Christian Dior after a couple accused him of racist remarks.
