Ashlee Simpson has decided to file for divorce from husband, former Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, at the LA County Superior Court on Wednesday (February 9), ending their two and a half years of marriage!
Citing "irreconcilable differences," Ashlee wants joint legal and primary physical custody of Bronx. She is also seeking spousal and child support.
The couple just released a joint statement:
"After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to file for divorce. We remain friends and deeply committed and loving parents to our son Bronx, whose happiness and well-being remains our number one priority. We ask that everyone honor our privacy as we navigate this next phase of our lives."
The couple started dating in 2006 and tied the knot in May of 2008, and welcomed their first child in November of the same year, Bronx Mowgli Wentz.
