Actress Lisa Blount, who plays Lynette Pomeroy in the 1982 movie "An Officer and a Gentleman", was found dead in her Little Rock, Arkansas home on Wednesday (October 27). She was 53 years-old.
The Pulaski County Coroner's office told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that the actress likely died on Monday and no signs of foul play were suspected. Her husband, actor/director Ray McKinnon was reportedly out of town.
Her mother tells radaronline that Lisa is in pain for many years as she suffered from a blood disorder called Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP).
“She was limited to what she could take because she had a rare blood disease…she wouldn’t take aspirin because it would bring the blood to the surface of the skin."
Blount received Academy Award recognition for Best Live Action Short Film as a producer for the 2001 movie 'The Accountant'. For the movie 'An Officer and a Gentleman', she was nominated for Golden Globe for best new star.
