Kiefer Sutherland's hit FOX series "24" will now stop ticking in your small screen.
The cast and crew unanimously felt that they had accomplished what they wanted to with the show and they "always wanted" to finish the series on a high note.
The two-hour finale episode will air May 24.

"This has been the role of a lifetime, and I will never be able to fully express my appreciation to everyone who made it possible," Sutherland said. "While the end of the series is bittersweet, we always wanted '24' to finish on a high note, so the decision to make the eighth season our last was one we all agreed upon."It is not the end for anti-terrorism agent Jack Bauer as they are now talking of creating a film version of "24."
