Burt Reynolds recovering from heart bypass

Veteran actor Burt Reynolds is now on stable and recovering condition after quintuple bypass surgery.

In a statement, Reynolds' rep says, "He wants to thank everyone for their good wishes and doctors plan on a speedy recovery."

He added, "Reports that are implying he was rushed to a hospital are completely untrue as he has had this operation scheduled for over a month."

Last year, Reynolds spent time in a Florida rehab center after treatment for painkiller abuse following back surgery.
