Meryl Streep shared some views of an icon in latest Vanity Fair issue (January 2010) and at age 60, she is still on the top of her game.
Still on top at age 60: “It’s incredible—I’m 60, and I’m playing the romantic lead in romantic comedies! Bette Davis is rolling over in her grave.”
Grateful for her life and career: “I’m very fucking grateful to be alive. I have so many friends who are sick or gone, and I’m here. Are you kidding? No complaints!”
Becoming the new “box-office queen", 2008 screen musical Mamma Mia grossed $601 million worldwide, The Devil Wears Prada brought $324 million, and most recently, Julie & Julia, which has earned $121 and counting.
