Josh Hartnett to play "Loki" for Thor movie?

Josh Hartnett is reportedly is interested in playing the villain role for the forthcoming film "Thor" due out July 16, 2010.

Apparently Hartnett will portray the role of "Loki", labeled as the God of Mischief and has mission to get rid of Thor.

In IESB report:

Hartnett has met with Brannagh as well and he is currently on a very short list to play the villain in the film.

Word is Josh and his camp are really interested because he has never played a villain before and after Heath Ledger's Oscar win for the latest comic book villain, Hartnett is intrigued by the character.

It this plan push through, we will see a different side of Josh Hartnett. Can this be a revelation role for him?
