Batman's latest installment "The Dark Knight" shattered box office records and set a new record for Single-Day Box Office Earnings, $66.4 million on opening day. The previous record of $59.8 million is set by Spider-Man 3 in 2007.
The Dark Knight also sets a record $155.34 million in weekend box office putting behind Spiderman 3's $151.1 million record in May 2007.
The buzz over Heath Ledger's performance as the "The Joker" in this film created interest to many moviegoers. His performance may land him a Academy Award nomination.
