A demand letter was sent to Talent Manager/TV host Lolit Solis by Sam Milby and Piolo Pascual's Lawyer. The letter state that Solis must withdraw her statement and issue a public apology.

Sam Milby's anger is due to Lolit Solis Column in Pilipino Star Ngayon, a tabloid in the Philippines. The column came out last October 15, with the front-page headline, "Sam and Piolo, naglalampungan."

Demand Letter

Ms Solis,

We are writing in behalf of our clients, Mssrs Samuel Lloyd Milby and Piolo Jose N. Pascual.

Our clients referred to us the matter of libelous material, which you wrote in your 15 October 2007 column at Pilipino Star Ngayon. Other articles referring to the same subject matter were subsequently published in other tabloids

In your article, you narrated that you saw our clients together at a Sofitel Hotel coffee shop, the previous Friday, 12 October 2007, at around 4:00 pm, their manner towards each other, unexpected from two gentlemen. Your article has left in doubt in the minds of the readers that you intended our clients to be perceived as gay men.

Unfortunately, our clients were not in Sofitel on 12 October 2007. They were not even together on the said date. Hence, your story was without any factual basis, and clearly a falsehood.

Besides being a complete lie, your narrative contained words and phrases that were indisputably defamatory, for they impute upon our clients a condition which is sufficient to impeach their reputation as matinee idols and hold them to public ridicule. Your article has undoubtedly shown your objective of maligning and injuring the reputation of our clients.

On view of the foregoing, we hereby demand a retraction of your malicious article, as well as a public apology. After having maliciously maligned our clients, it is only appropriate that you dispel the negative impression created by your libelous article. Should you not do so within ten (10) days from your receipt of this letter, we shall be constrained to take whatever legal action is appropriate and necessary to protect the interest of our clients.

Our clients still hope that the above matter would be settled without resort to court action. We appeal to your common decency, and hope that you will correct what you have done and refrain from further inflicting injury to our clients.

We trust that this matter merits your preferential attention.

Very truly yours,

RAYALA ALONSO and PARTNERS

In a recent event, EXQUIZITH a dance group from the Philippines has join and won the Sayaw Barangay category of U Can Dance season 2 competition televised in different countries.

The problem with this is that they performed choreographies which were not their creations and then proceeded to take credit for these choreographies. The group they stole from in this clip is known as BLUEPRINT & the choreographer is Steve Bolton. And Exquizith are also accused of stealing other routine from several other groups worldwide.

You can compare this situation in the movie "Bring It On" except for the characters are cheerleader but the plot the movie are stolen routines from other groups.

American Idol Katharine McPhee talks about beauty, her great body, and her sense of style in Peach magazine.

Katharine on whether she would ever change her famous hair color:
“I’ve definitely been thinking about it. I really hope for [a] movie role in which I have to go blonde. Not platinum blonde, but I think it’d be really fun just for a couple months to kind of be a light, dirty-blonde color.”

Katharine on whether she works out:
“I do what I can, especially as busy as I am. Right now, I’m just working on stretching in the downtime that I have and bringing little weights with me for my arms and doing lunges. Lunges are something I can always do anywhere, so it doesn’t matter if I have a gym or not. And I do love yoga.”

Katharine on her Fall must-have items:
“Definitely cashmere baby doll dresses with tights and little ankle boots. Long sweaters to wear with jeans, to dress them up. Little hats to wear. Oh, and scarves. I’ve stocked up on scarves.”

Timing is always the key of a good Magic or Illusion. But timing is not in David Copperfield hands right now. Copperfield warehouse in Las Vegas was raided by FBI Officials after a woman from Seattle filed a rape case and accused David of raping her while she was in the Bahamas. Due to this untimely event his Asian tour was force to canceled.

His Asian tour cancellation will be heading to another case suit by Asian promoters. Indonesia and Malaysia promoters threatened to take a legal action against Copperfield and demanded that Copperfield must provide an explanation.

Promoter Arianna Teoh said, "We are definitely going to seek legal counsel and find out the reasons behind the cancellations and examine the situation carefully,"

"We do hope that he will be responsible and will pay back the money we have given him. I think he is a honorable man,"

"I understand that he is going through a very tough and emotional time right now, but this is business."

Four promoters from Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore had hired a US-based lawyer to launch legal action against Copperfield.

Indonesian promoter alone will sue Copperfield a 3.0 million US dollars over this cancellation.
>
Some people are joking, David can now do a quick vanishing act for his next performance.

This is a reality show that pits celebrities in a boxing match, aims to test the character of each one as a fighter and as a man. This is the local version of the hit U.S. show The Contender.

  • Jordan Hererra, member of the disbanded Powerboys group and survivor of nasty gossip
  • Joem Bascon, an upcoming heartthrob

Today 20th of October is the first telecast of one of many FPJ movies after ABS-CBN acquired the exclusive rights to the whole movie library of the late Action star icon Fernando Poe Jr.

Even I watched his movie again and again, he still amazed me and I’m sad because of his untimely death it really affects the movie industry in the Philippines.

Many Filipinos believe he won the last presidential election in the Philippines and many are also saying he was cheated.

He appeared in more than 200 films, including several based on true stories, and won the Philippine equivalent of the Academy Award four times. Over the course of his five-decade career, Poe directed nine movies and ran several production companies.

ABS-CBN first FPJ movie offering : Hindi Pa Tapos Ang Laban

Description
Fernando Poe, Jr., Michelle Aldana, Johnny Delgado, Paquito Diaz, Dick Israel, and Berting Labra are some of the cast of this movie. Fernando Poe Jr. as Carding Villamar, a city professional who returns to their hometown of Evangelista after learning of his brother's untimely demise. As a series of events unfold, he soon discovers that his brother didn't succumb to a heart attack as he was made to believe. He was shot in cold blood for refusing to sell his land to a powerful congressman. With a town muted and crippled by fear, the congressman's henchmen move unhampered to silence Carding and his brother's orphaned family as well. Big mistake. Armed with only a crusty riffle and a whole ton of rage. Carding sets out to right the wrong and exact vengeance for the murder of his brother. That is, if he survives the hot pursuits of bounty hunters, the militia and the police who are all in the congressman's payroll.

FPJ movie collection can be considered as the biggest and most important movie library in the history of Philippine Cinema.

A raid was conducted by FBI officials in David Copperfield warehouse, seizing a computer hard drive, a digital camera system and nearly $2 million in cash as reported by KLAS-TV. A woman from Seattle accused Copperfield of raping her while she was in the Bahamas. Because the alleged incident happened abroad and the woman did not report it until she returned to the United States, Seattle authorities turned over the case to the FBI.

David Copperfield statement,"It is important these allegations be put into perspective. An unidentified woman has made serious allegations against David Copperfield. Although authorities have not revealed her identity to us, we know these allegations are false because David Copperfield has never forced himself on anyone."

Ang Lee's spy film "Lust, Caution" has been pulled out from the Oscar's Best Foreign Film nomination by Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences (AMPAS).

AMPAS executive Bruce Davis said "Lust, Caution," was reviewed which the committee decided there wasn't enough Taiwanese participation on the film. Only part of its investment was from Taiwan. Also, most of the film's collaborators are not from Taiwan.

This is a big blow to the national pride of Taiwan. "Lust,Caution" has a good chance of winning an Oscar.

''Lust, Caution,'' about the sexually charged relationship between an undercover activist and the Japanese-allied intelligence chief in World War II-era Shanghai.

Taiwan has replaced "Lust, Caution" with director Chen Huai-en's "Island Etude".

Ang Lee won best director Oscar for the gay romance "Brokeback Mountain" last year and "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" won best foreign film for Taiwan in 2001.

News are now circulating around the net, that Disney’s pulling Vanessa Hudgens out of the next HSM 3 after the controversial nude photos of the actress.

If Disney really said that Zac Efron is the real star of HSM, it's a BIG No, No. Both Zac and Vanessa are the main and original component in two(2) successful HSM. They established their individual character in High School Musical.

According to Ok! Magazine,

“Disney finally decided that they don’t want her back,” an insider reveals to OK!. “They feel that as long as Zac Efron is in the movie, all will be fine. He’s the real star — the household name — and, most importantly, he comes without baggage.”

The source also reports that one of the Cheetah Girls — Adrienne Baillon, 23, or possibly 23-year-old Sabrina Bryan — will take Vanessa’s place. “The producers think that after Dancing With the Stars, Sabrina will be more famous than Vanessa.”
According to Hudgens Staff from Access Hollywood,
“Totally untrue. It is an old rumor,” the rep told Access. “OK! magazine never bothered to fact check with me but they did call Disney who said it wasn’t true, but yet OK! ran it anyway. Apparently OK! magazine was having a slow news day.”

In addition, a spokesperson for Disney told Access they are still in talks with the actress for the next chapter in the “HSM” franchise.

“We are still in negotiations with all of the ‘High School Musical’ stars,” the spokesperson said.

If Hudgens will be cut in the coming HSM3, I don't believe it will be successful like the previous HSM.

James Blunt music video for his latest single “1973” off his album All The Lost Souls.

1973 LYRICS

Simona
You're getting older
Your journey's been
Etched on your skin.

Simona
Wish I had know that
What seemed so strong
Has been and gone.

Chrous:
I would call you up every Saturday night
And we'd both stay out 'til the morning light
And we sang "Here we go again."
And though time comes by
I will always be in a club with you in 1973
Singing "Here we go again."

Simona
Wish I was sober
So I could see clearly now
The rain has gone.

Simona
I guess it's over
My memory plays our tune
The same old song.

I would call you up every Saturday night
And we'd both stay out 'til the morning light
And we sang "Here we go again."
And though time goes by
I will always be in a club with you in 1973
Singing "Here we go again."

I would call you up every Saturday night
And we'd both stay out 'til the morning light
And we sang "Here we go again."
And though time goes by
I will always be in a club with you in 1973
Singing "Here we go again."

I would call you up every Saturday night
And we'd both stay out 'til the morning light
And we sang "Here we go again."
And though time goes by
I will always be in a club with you in 1973
Singing "Here we go again."

A former consultant for Combs’ Bad Boy Entertainment Inc., James Sabationo has filed a $19 million lawsuit.

Sabatino says he paid for Biggie’s expenses and studio time, although a contract was never signed, according to the lawsuit. Diddy allegedly agreed to buy music and video footage of Biggie from Sabatino for $200,000. He gave Sabatino a check for $25,000 and promised the rest of the money in sixty days.

According to Yahoo News: Combs said the reason for the delay was that Los Angeles police had named Sabatino a person of interest in the rapper’s death. Sabatino and Notorious B.I.G. were scheduled to meet the night of the killing, but Sabatino never showed up.

Combs worried it could be misconstrued if the public found out his company had paid a person of interest in the killing, the lawsuit said.

Sabatino was later incarcerated on unrelated charges but still tried to get the money from Combs. He was repeatedly told it was coming soon, according to the lawsuit.

Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao Won by Unanimous Decision.

Four long years in the making. The big difference is the age and the amount of damage each fighter has taken over the years. Barrera didn't have the speed or quickness to keep up with him. I expect a early knockout that will finish the fight but Barrera show he is a warrior.

Round 1 - Both men circling and jabbing. Each man reaches for the other's body with straight punches. Clearly plenty of mutual respect here. They exchange flurries toward the end of the round as the crowd roars, although Pacquiao's seem slightly stronger. Tough round to score, and there is a sense the fight could explode at any time.
Dan Rafael scores it: Pacquiao, 10-9
Kieran Mulvaney scores it: Pacquiao, 10-9

Round 2 - Left-right-left from Pacquiao, Barrera replies with a combinatioon of his own. Left/right from Pacquiao. A left and double right hand from Barrera, Right from Pacquiao just misses. Flurries from Pacquiao just fall short. Barrera showing good defense.
Dan Rafael scores it: Barrera, 10-9
Kieran Mulvaney scores it: Barrera, 10-9

Round 8 - Pacquiao jabbing. They trade rights. Right for Pacquiao. Barrera with a good counter combo. Pacquiao returns his own combo. Barrera jabs and goes to the body. Hard left by Pacquiao. They trade jabs. Three punch combo by Pacquiao pushes Barrera back. Barrera with a combo. They trade at the end. Round for Pacquiao.

Round 11 - Pacquiao pushing foward with hard jabs and land a hard right. They trade on the inside and now they start to fight as Barrera is giving as good as he is getting. Pacquiao with a hard right and he begins to unload on Barrera and landing hard punches. There is a clash of heads and Barrera hits Pacquiao on the break. Barrera has blood from a cut under his eye from the clash of heads. Ref is taking a point from Barrera for hitting on the break. 10-8 round for Pacquiao

Jammie Thomas, age 30, a single mother of two, was found liable for copyright infringement in the nation's first file-sharing case to go before a jury.

Twelve jurors here said that Jammie Thomas must pay $9,250 for each of 24 shared songs that were the subject of the lawsuit, amounting to $222,000 in penalties.

They could have dinged her for up to $3.6 million in damages, or awarded as little as $18,000. She was found liable for infringing songs from bands such as Journey, Green Day, Aerosmith and others.

There were about 3.8 million file sharers trading over the internet at a given moment. Now, the group has measured a record 9 million users trading at the same time. Roughly 70 percent of trading involves digital music,

RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) which has brought more than 20,000 lawsuits in the last four years as part of its zero-tolerance policy against pirating. The outcome is likely to embolden the RIAA, which began targeting individuals in lawsuits after concluding the legal system could not keep pace with the ever growing number of file-sharing sites and services.

RIAA's victory will translate into a financial windfall or stop piracy, which the industry claims costs it billions in lost sales. Despite the thousands of lawsuits -- the majority of them settling while others have been dismissed or are pending -- the RIAA's litigation war on internet piracy has neither dented illegal, peer-to-peer file sharing or put much fear in the hearts of music swappers.

Thomas maintained that she was not the Kazaa user "Tereastarr," whose files were detected by RIAA's investigators. Her attorney speculated to jurors that she could have been the victim of a spoof, cracker, zombie, drone and other attacks.

The jury found her liable after receiving evidence her internet protocol address and cable modem identifier were used to share some 1,700 files. The hard drive linked to Kazaa on Feb. 21, 2005 -- the evening in question -- did not become evidence in the case.

According to testimony, Thomas replaced her hard drive weeks after RIAA investigators accessed her share file and discovered 1,702 files. The industry sued on just 24 of those files.

The Philippine Government and Philippine Medical Association (PMA) has voiced its displeasure over the remarks considered as a racial slur against Philippine medical schools in the hit American television series “Desperate Housewives."

The line was delivered by actress Teri Hatcher's character, Susan Mayer, in the show's Season 4 premier episode.

In the scene where Mayer was being examined by a doctor, she asked for the man's credentials and said: "Can I check those diplomas 'coz I just want to make sure that they're not from some med school in the Philippines."

Shame on the writers. I do blame the writer for overlooking a statement that has now been interpreted as a racial slur. Writers should be more sensitive.

This kind of racial slur is a very irresponsible act and should NEVER be tolerated in any society, whether in a first world or a third world country.

Filipino Americans has started a Online Petition
Total Signatures : 17104 and growing
http://www.petitiononline.com/FilABC/petition.html

To the producers of “Desperate Housewives” and ABC:

We are writing to express concern and hurt about a racially-discriminatory comment made in an episode of Desperate Housewives on 9/30/07. In a scene in which Susan was told by her gynecologist that she might be hitting menopause, she replied, “Can I just check those diplomas because I just want to make sure that they are not from some med school in the Philippines.”

As members and allies of the Filipino American community, we are writing to inform know that this type of derogatory remark was discriminatory and hurtful, and such a comment was not necessary to maintain any humor in the show. Additionally, a statement that devalues Filipinos in healthcare is extremely unfounded, considering the overwhelming presence of Filipinos and Filipino Americans in the medical field. Filipinos are the second largest immigrant population in the United States, with many entering the U.S. (and successfully passing their U.S. licensing boards!) as doctors, nurses, and medical technicians. In fact, the Philippines produces more U.S. nurses than any other country in the world. So, to belittle the education, experience, or value of Filipino Americans in health care is extremely disrespectful and plain and simply ignorant. Many of the hospitals in major metropolitan areas of the U.S. (and the world) would not be able to operate without its Filipino and Filipino American staff members.

As Filipino Americans and allies, we band together to ensure that this type of hateful message should not be allowed to continue on our television and radio airwaves. Given the recent amounts of media attention that has been given to Michael Richards (against African Americans), Isaiah Washington (against gays), and Rosie O’Donnell (against Asian/ Chinese Americans), it is ridiculous that this type of hateful speech made it through various screenwriters, the show’s producers, the show’s actors, and ABC itself.

We demand a public apology to the Filipino American community, and we demand the episode be edited to remove the ignorant and racist remark. We will not allow hateful messages against our community (or any other oppressed community) to continue.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
