It's all about manipulation, corruption, betrayal, lust and revenge in GMA-7's upcoming Sine Novela “Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak” starring Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo.

"Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak" is a remake of the critically-acclaimed political drama masterpiece in the 90's of director Lino Broka. Original powerhouse cast includes Dina Bonnevie, Eddie Garcia, Christopher de Leon and Charo Santos.

Gumapang Ka sa Lusak revolves around the lives of engaged sweethearts Rachel (Jennylyn Mercado), an aspiring young actress, and Levi (Dennis Trillo), a poor, happy-go-lucky guy.

In the town of San Felipe, Rachel's beauty stands out. She becomes the object of desire for many men, including their own mayor, Edmundo Guatlo (Al Tantay). With a fervent desire to have her, Mayor Guatlo will use all his power to make Rachel his mistress. Rachel rejects all the gifts and favors offered by the mayor. However, she will fall into the wicked mayor's trap after a series of misfortunes happen to her loved ones, including her fiancé Levi, who gets imprisoned due to an illegal activity.

Although the mayor's wife, Rowena (Sandy Andolong), is aware of her husband's infidelity, she goes along with it as long as the affair doesn't affect her comfortable and powerful position in the society.

However, things will make a sudden turn when Mayor Guatlo's secret is exposed to the public. It is a secret that will uncover a series of other secrets.

Will the mayor be able to win when he runs anew for the mayoralty post in the coming election? Will the expose free Rachel from being the Mayor's mistress? Will fate lead her back to the loving arms of Levi? Or is it too late for the hapless lovers to rekindle their affection?

"Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak" is one of the new upcoming TV afternoon soap from GMA network starring Dennis Trillo, Jennylyn Mercado and it is directed by Maryo J. delos Reyes.

The new series is a remake from Lino Brocka's 1990 directed film of the same title, originally starred by Dina Bonnevie, Christopher de Leon, Charo Santos-Concio, Eddie Garcia, Bembol Roco, Francis Magalona and Allan Paule.

Jennylyn Mercado doesn't want to reconcile with her child's father

Her controversial and nasty breakup with Patrick Garcia still makes GMA actress Jennylyn Mercado firm on her decision to barred the father of her child on seeing their baby Alex Jazz.

Jennylyn's recent interview by Ricky Lo via FunFare, she said, “No..I have no plans of letting him see AJ. After what he did to me, why should I?”.

The feud started when Patrick Garcia was quoted in a interview of his answer on what if the father of child turned out to be somebody else. Jennylyn expected that Patrick answer will be straight up "I am the baby’s father and I take responsibility for (the baby) and Jennylyn” but he reply an answers that only created speculations.

With her upcoming coffee table book that features her pregnancy and her new born baby, actress Jennylyn Mercado will file a case against media photographers who gatecrashed on the christening of her baby Alex Jazz at Christ the King Church in Quezon City last Sunday (Jan. 25).

She said that they violated her right to privacy. Jennylyn also reiterates that she didn't want to deprived the media in taking photos of her baby but she really likes is to limit and protect her baby.

It’s a boy for Jennylyn Mercado minus Patrick Garcia

Jennylyn Mercado gave birth to a healthy baby boy minus the presence of the father, her ex-boyfriend Patrick Garcia.

In a statement by Jennylyn's Manager Becky Aguila, "Jenn gave birth to a healthy baby boy via caesarian section yesterday (Saturday)."

“Both mother and son are doing fine. Jenn's requesting for privacy for now."

Jennylyn gave birth between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke’s Medical Center. The baby weighed 8.12 pounds

This is becoming an ugly break up between Jennylyn Mercado and Patrick Garcia. Jennylyn does an interview at Friday's restaurant and confirms the breakup.

The mom-to-be said that Patrick gave her no support emotionally and financially. She also added that Patrick also gave her deep stress.

According to PEP, Jennylyn said, "Magbuhat nang magbuntis ako, wala naman siyang ginagawang effort para sa akin at sa magiging anak niya".

Jennylyn decided to be just a single mom and she will take good care of her upcoming baby.

Becky Aguila don't support Jennylyn's plan to marry Patrick Garcia

Patrick's sister Cheska Garcia is schedule to be married this year with basketball player Doug Kramer.

Jennylyn's manager Becky Aguila is not in favor of Jen marrying her boyfriend Patrick Garcia at this time and Becky is very vocal about it.

According to PEP:
Becky said, "It is not the right time, Marriage is not the solution". "I'm against the marriage. Just keep the baby."

GMA artist and Starstruck winner Jennylyn Mercado is confirmed pregnant. According to Philippine Entertainment Portal, Jennylyn is almost two months pregnant courtesy of her boyfriend Patrick Garcia.

The couple visits St. Luke's Hospital for a medical checkup and the two was also seen in Makati City Hall, they are inquiring about marriage procedures.

They both said they never hide their current situation.

Theres a report that due to her untimely situation, the two will be pulled out from the cast of sine novela's "Maging Akin Ka Lamang".

Also theres a rumor that Jennylyn will be the next DARNA, but surely GMA management will think again and will choose another GMA artist.
