Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal "The Last Prince" premieres on January 11

Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal, GMA network's only solid love team at this moment will try to continue their small screen success with their latest primetime series "The Last Prince".

This fantasy-romantic series is GMA's opening salvo for 2010 and directed by Mac Alejandre. It will premiere on January 11.

The Last Prince tells the fairy tale story of a kingdom in the clouds called Paladino. The peaceful and perfect life in Paladino is suddenly threatened when one of the prince went missing (Prince Javino). His disappearance is orchestrated by the most powerful and wicked black Diwani named Alwana. Diwanis are the powerful wizards in the kingdom.

The successor of the throne lands on the hands of Prince Almiro and forcing him to have a new bride. The first maiden who attempt to seduce Almiro is Bawana, daughter of Alwana who possessed a hideous face and dark secret. Alwana uses her magic to make Bawana look beautiful. But Prince Almiro discovers their deception and he sends her away.

Bawana is enraged so she puts a curse on Prince Almiro. His face becomes distorted and only true love could break the curse.

Prince Almiro met a mortal named Lara. She accepts and love the prince despite his appearance.

GMA-7's rising on-screen couple Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal will now be tested on their big screen debut as lead stars of the upcoming romantic drama "Nandito Ako...Nagmamahal Sa ‘Yo".

Based on Ogie Alcasid love song, "Nandito Ako...Nagmamahal Sa ‘Yo" is a story of love, acceptance and commitment.


Cast includes Baron Geisler, Ana Capri, Julio Diaz, Valeen Montenegro, Gerald Madrid, Anton Bernardo, Dean Pastrano, Lloyd Samartino and helm by ward-winning director Maryo J. delos Reyes.

Produced by Regal Films and it will hit the theaters on September 30 with a premiere night on September 27 at SM Megamall.

Aljur Abrenica's lawyer released statement about "acts of lasciviousness" charges

GMA artist Aljur Abrenica is being praise as one of the fast rising young dramatic actor but his achievement is being overshadowed by the "acts of lasciviousness" charges filed against him by a 15 year-old teenage girl.

After months of investigation, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has transmitted a copy of the complaint to the Department of Justice with a recommendation to prosecute Abrenica.

Aljur's lawyer Atty. June Ambrosio released a statement about the NBI's recommendation.

"The NBI was just following standard operational legal procedure when it forwarded the case of Aljur Abrenica to the DOJ. NBI receives the complaint, investigates and forwards it to the DOJ or to the concerned prosecutor's office, which is the proper office to determine 'probable cause.'

"It is therefore erroneous to report that the NBI has found probable cause in the case and to insinuate that there is a strong case against Aljur.

"The DOJ, after preliminary hearing, will determine if there is enough basis to charge the respondent or dismiss the case altogether.

"In the wake of this development, let it be put on record that Aljur is ready to face his accuser and answer the charges against him in the DOJ as soon as we receive a copy of the subpoena, along with the affidavits of the complainant and her witnesses.

"I am confident that my client will be able to clear his name on this matter."

After the overwhelming success of their team up in GMA's afternoon drama series "Gilda Olvidado's Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?" and currently receiving good feedback in their latest early primetime soap "All My Life", now their chemistry will hit the big screen.

Regal Entertainment is launching Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal's team up in the big screen with the romantic movie "I'll Be Waiting For You" which is written by Jake Tordesillas.

Reportedly, their currently shooting the film in Tagbilaran, Bohol and being helm by Maryo J. de los Reyes.

Other cast includes Baron Geisler, Ana Capri, Lloyd Samartino, Valeen Montenegro, at Anton Bernardo.
