The recipient of the Philippine Association of the Record Industry's "Dangal ng Musikang Pilipino award" goes to Lea Salonga. It was given during the e 21st Awit Awards ceremony held at the Eastwood Central Plaza in Libis, Quezon City, November 26.

Emilio Garcia and Sid Lucero, lead stars of the indie film “Selda (international title: The Inmate)” was both proclaimed Best Actor during the 49th Thessaloniki International Film Festival held in Greece, Nov. 23, 2008.
"Selda" is about a young man (Sid) who is imprisoned and develops a close relationship with another prisoner (Emilio).
Paolo Villaluna and Ellen Ramos are co-directors in this film.

The alleged beating up incident happened after a traffic altercation at the corner of Panay and Sgt. Esguerra avenues in Quezon City this morining, Nov. 25.
John's wife denies the said allegations and claiming that driver is to be blamed on said traffic scuffles.
In a statement via ABS-CBN news, the taxi driver Rafael Sabuhala said, "Oo pinagsusuntok niya ako dito nakasalamin ako ng sinuntok niya ako.Nagalit siya sa akin kasi binalik ko ang salita niya sa akin na 'tarantado ka' kasi pinagbigyan na kita huminto ka pa kaya nga ako huminto dahil dumaan ang taxi mabilis. Tapos binalik ko ang salita niya na tarantado ka din. Suntok na ang binigay sa akin".

The plane crash was due to pilot's error and defective equipment. These are the points of the lawsuit filed by Travis Barker and the mother of Barker's bodyguard, Charles "Che" Still, who died in the crash.
It alleges that the pilots "negligently decided to abort" and "The pilots were either poorly trained and/or failed to follow their training. The pilots' decision was a breach of their duty owed to the passengers onboard and was a substantial factor in causing the crash and resultant injuries and deaths."
Also in the lawsuit, the plane was "defective", "It's landing gear, tires, wheels, brakes, reverse thrust system, squat switches and component parts were not airworthy."
Barker is suing for "pain and suffering, mental anguish, psychological and emotional distress and disfigurement and pre-impact fear of death and burning." Also include loss of earnings capacity and medical expenses.
Clay Lacy Aviation, Global Executive Aviation, Inter Travel and Services, Goodyear Tire and Rubber and Bombardier Inc are the defendants in this case.

She said, “That was awkward, and I’m glad you asked, because I do not wear fur at all. It was a day-long photo shoot on a boat near Capri, and there were all sorts of poses behind and draped a stole around my shoulder. I didn’t pay much attention to it and when I noticed it was fur, I assumed it was fake fur, but did not ask, so it’s my fault. I was very surprised when they ended up using that one shot out of hundreds for the centerpiece of the Tod’s ads. I know it’s not a great excuse, but I hope you and your members understand.”

The SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) has charged civil insider-trading charges to Mark Cuban after selling shares of an Internet company (Mamma.com) before an announcement that the company is in a transaction that will reduce the company's shares value in 2004.
By selling his stake, the SEC alleges, Mr. Cuban avoided more than $750,000 in losses.
It is also in the case of Martha Stewart, she was thrown to six months in prison after insider-trading.

Heather was busted last September and now she is facing penalties ranging from a fine to up to six months in county jail.

Whenever I feel the need to vent about something that feels unfair to me I reach for my computer, I don't run out of the house with abusive intentions. I don't expect everyone to react the same way, but I do expect people to respect each other. Maybe that's my first mistake? It seems lately I am learning that there are too many people who put another species before their fellow man and that's sad. I don't wear fur, but I don't think I have the right to ATTACK those who do. No one has that right.
PETA should focus their efforts on educating people on what they believe are injustices instead of seeking press via harassing those in the limelight. I received an apology too many days late from the PETA folks (the blog removal was too little too late) and today I'm pissed at the bag of flour thrown on Lindsay last night. Not because I got powdered down, but because the girl who threw it acted like an animal herself. I take that back, it's an insult to animals to group her in with them, my dog is FAR more civilized than that person. I would have more respect for them if they didn't use other people to get their point across. Lindsay, Mary Kate, Ashley Olsen, Anna Wintour and the rest of the targeted celebrities aren't the problem, I'm pretty sure they're not the only ones wearing fur, in fact, they should be appreciated by PETA for giving them a target. If it weren't for them, who would get them press?????

Controversial couple Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson's enjoyment in Paris was cut short because of the anti-fur activist PETA.The anti-fur activist dropped a flour bomb to Lindsay Lohan. It was all over her head as they shouted, “Lindsay Lohan — fur hag!”
PETA said, Lohan has enraged animal lovers by appearing in at least two different fur coats in recent days.
PETA Europe's Robbie LeBlanc had this to say about Lindsay's run in with the French flour-tossing fur foe: "There is nothing remotely 'fashionable' about the torture and death of animals killed for fur. Lindsay Lohan might be able to ignore images of bloody animals skinned alive for their pelts, but we hope a dash of flour will help her rise to the occasion and forsake fur once and for all."

Designed and produced by a Malaysian animation studio, they created an animé-inspired visual style characteristic of the channel. It features the band members as animated characters and was aired on Animax across Asia and on-line to wide acclaim.

The influential mom has a recent interview with BBC and she says, “I don’t plan to keep acting very long. I’m ready to do a few things now and fade away and get ready to be a grandma one day. I’m not so worried that I want to keep this pace up and try to be something and be a celebrity.”
“I don’t think I’ll ever say I’m never, ever gonna work because maybe there’s that interesting project where I feel creative,” she adds. “I like being home a lot. First and foremost, I have a lot of children, and I need to make sure they’re growing right and they’ve got us there for them.”

"I am not darker, angrier or moodier these days. In fact, it's just the opposite. All that's happened is that I've given up on trying to find a way to use unwanted media as a form of entertainment. (It still was worth a try.) A walk to the car isn't the best time to try and analyze my mood or disposition, so you'll probably always get a bad read from it.
Here's what I think some of you might be missing... I'm enjoying off time right now. That means I'm not really playing any shows as I concentrate on making the next album. Traditionally that would mean that you never see me at all, and my absence makes your hearts grow fonder, and then I appear again with my next collection of work and we all get grooving again. Things have changed a bit, and the decision to slide on and off your radar isn't so much my own anymore. But I'm too young to stomp my feet about it. All I can do is concentrate on keeping my heart and soul correct and then redecorate around it."

The boastful Marlon "The Demon" Carmen has smoothly executed his demonizing strategy to his fellow tribemates that flip the table against Kiko Rustia.
But before Kiko left the tribal council, host Paolo Bediones gave another twist to the game, the black pearl. Paolo gave Kiko the privilege using the black pearl the power to give/serve as a curse to whoever holding it, and the holder will automatically get an extra vote in the next Tribal Council.

Kiko's final message, "Anything can happen. Lagi ko na lang pinapasa- Diyos na matanggal man ako o hindi. Para sa 'kin, God's will 'yung nangyayari. In the final question of the final four they were asked on what they would tell U.S. president-elect Barack Obama about the state of the global environment if ever they were to meet.
Karla Henry answered that she would encourage Obama to implement environmental knowledge in the curriculum of schools not just in the US, but also in the Philippines.
"Environmental knowledge is something that all of us must share, but most importantly we must teach the youth that this is something that we should instill in them so that in the near future they will be the ones to take care of our mother Earth."

The veteran actress is teaming up again with director Chito Roño for a horror flick entitled "T-2". Maricel described "T-2" as a unique horror film overflowing with heart and emotions.
"T-2" tells the story of a young kid who lost her parents at a young age. She eventually meets Claire (Soriano), a woman who's falling out of love with her husband.
