After the Heroes star attended the Nickelodeon’s Kids' Choice Award 2008, Hayden Panettiere and her advocacies for the welfare for the animals was honored at the 2008 Genesis Awards on Saturday night in Beverly Hills.

Hayden in her classic black mini-dress receives The Wyler Award for her achievement in promoting public awareness for the conservation of animals especially her role in stopping the cruelty against whale and dolphin slaughter.

The Hollywood Office of the Humane Society of the United States created and produced the Genesis Award for recognizing the contribution of entertainment media and news agencies for showcasing animal protection issues.

Human Society Senior Director Beverly Kaskey said, “We feel Hayden is a very worthy successor to Sir Paul McCartney, last year’s Wyler Award recipient. She’s an inspiring example to her generation, using her compassion, courage and celebrity to help animals in a very effective way.”

GMA Network presents another upcoming fantasy-comedy series from Carlo J. Caparas comic collection, "Tasya Pantasya". Yasmien Kurdi, Wendell Ramos and Rainier Castillo topbilled this new TV series.

Kris Aquino and Alvin Patrimonio done the film version of it 14 years ago.

"Tasya Fantasya" is a story about sales assistant named Tasya who played by Yasmien Kurdi who work in an optical shop, due to circumstances she found a magical pair of eyeglasses. Through these eyeglasses, she is transported into another world where she faces challenging situations and triumphs. But in all those situations her goal has always been to win the heart of his Prince Charming or Donald whom she admires from afar.

One of original cast member of the hit series "Prison Break" will return next season.

After her contract issue with 20th Century last year that causes her untimely cut of her character, Sarah Wayne Callies a.k.a. Dr. Sara Tancredi is coming back in the season 4 of PB. The love and pain between her and Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) will replenish again.

According to TVGuide in their interview with Prison Break executive producer Matt Olmstead, the fans is one of the issue they decided to bring back Sarah.

Interview excerpts from TVguide:

Initially it was supposed to be her head in Season 3 episode four. What changed?
Olmstead: What changed was.... once we realized that the emotional hook of Season 3 was going to be the death of Sara, when we didn't get the actress to do it, as soon as we wrote it and shot it, we realized that there was actually a way she could still be alive. Lincoln glanced at the head in the box for a split second. That could've been anyone. He wasn't about to pull it up from the hair and inspect it closely. And then we were fairly careful thereafter of references we made to that and who took credit for it and what was seen or heard, and we left it fairly [vague]. But initially when we realized that we never actually saw the character get killed, we just had that knowledge in our back pocket and moved forward with the narrative as we intended. Which was: she's out of the picture, Michael's [feeling guilty] and Lincoln is freaking out because if they did that to her, they could do that to his son. It really gave us a real push for the season.

Don't you think that was a little unfair to the audience — particularly fans of Dr. Sara — to jerk them around like this? They had every reason to believe she was dead.
Olmstead: I don't think it was unfair, because it gave us some real juice storytelling-wise — it put teeth in the antagonists. Obviously they were now capable of killing somebody. It also gave us a couple of episodes where Lincoln withheld the information from Michael, and that gave us conflict with the brothers. But also, what were we really going to do? Were we going to see Sarah Wayne Callies tied to a chair for 13 episodes? And then if she broke free, what is she really doing? It was almost a disservice to that character to keep her around last season. Certainly, we could have put her on a cruise ship and she's off sailing away. But we felt that if we're going to lose that character, why not get the most drama out of it? We didn't look at it in terms of [us] trying to tell the audience to go, you know, do something to themselves.

What role did the fan response to Dr. Sara's death play in her return?
Olmstead: It factored in. It was kind of a confluence of events. We saw on the message boards that a lot of fans were wondering if she really was dead. And then that led to conversations of, "Well, what if she isn't?" But then we put that on the back burner and moved forward with what we had to do, because it wasn't anything that could be dealt with right then. And then when we came back after the strike and we realized that we were not going to finish Season 3... we creatively decided to blow it all out, jump forward in the timeline and get a fresh start. And so, when we pitched that, a lot of those elements remained, but we were still looking for that emotional core for Michael. We were kind of exactly where we were in the beginning of Season 3, which led to her demise, quote unquote. So we went back and revisited [the idea of bringing her back to life]. And once we started talking about it, it was mentioned again that fans are still wondering about her. And when people who are fans of the show — and of Sarah — are asking, "Is she really dead?", what they're saying, essentially, is, "I hope she's not dead." And then it became a kind of groundswell.

Good news for the Jericho Rosales' fans, their idol will be visible on TV drama again this year.

ABS-CBN corporation and Malaysian production Double Vision will co-produce a television series which will be starred by Filipino actor Jericho "Echo" Rosales and Malaysian actress-model Carmen Soo.

The two outfits has signed yesterday a joint venture for a television project. Present on the contract signing are ABS-CBN president Charo Santos-Concio, executives of Double Vision Lim Bek Tek and stars Rosales and Soo.

Echo and Carmen will begin taping April 30 and will run for two months in sites in both Philippines and Malaysia.

After the sad news about her mom-former President Corazon Aquino diagnosed with colon cancer. Actress and Wheel of Fortune host Kris Aquino confirmed via a text message that she had a miscarriage to entertainment columnist and television host Cristy Fermin.

Kris' text message:
"I had a miscarriage. Collapsed gestational sac and blighted ovum. We just have to wait for my body to expel on its own. Seven and half weeks. God's will so I can take care of my mom. Just came from Dr. Pastorfide with my mom now. On our way home from the hospital."

She is on her seven and half weeks of her pregnancy before this incidents happen. It is supposed to be his second pregnancy from husband James Yap.

The top spot crown in primetime programming is out for grab after the long reign of Marian Rivera's Marimar.

Marimar held the top spot over eight months and now two GMA shows is battling it out. Robin Padilla's "Joaquin Bordado" holds now the No.1 spot in the primetime block followed by Richard Gutierrez's Kamandag.

In another change of event, the new Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus is now ABS-CBN's no.1 primetime show and ranked no.5 with 26.3 percent rating last March 24, 2008.

This is based on the overnight ratings conducted by AGB Nielsen Philippines among Mega Manila households.

ABS-CBN's primetime series Maging Sino Ka Man (MSKM) Book 2 bids farewell to their viewers this coming Friday, March 28.

Reports that many followers of the said drama series is not contented about the twist of the story that happen in Book 2 of "Maging Sino Ka Man". I have watched the Book 1 of MSKM and the story line is much better than Book 2.

MSKM fanatics questions the death of the character Celine played by Anne Curtis and untimely cut on Rosanna Roces' character. Their is rumor that Rossana was axed due to her bad behavior.

Even before the airing of the Book 2 series, visitors in different Filipino forums didn't agree to the additional characters they added like Angelica Panganiban and D. Ramsey.

The ratings of the series is also down. The series can't match up the primetime series from GMA.

The marriage between on-off couple Pamela Anderson and Rick Salomon is officially over. The marriage was legally annulled on grounds of fraud.

At first Pam filed legal papers back in December and she was asking for a divorce but last month documents were filed asking for an annulment, citing fraud. The fraud revolves around a supposed promise by Pam to have children with Rick, when they married.

According to TMZ, Pam was pregnant at the time the couple separated. Shortly after the separation, suddenly Pam was no longer pregnant. Subsequently both Rick and Pam filed annulment papers.

Leonardo DiCaprio continued to promote environmental awareness with his visit to Hong Kong.

His foundation and local bank HSBC has combined together for a joint venture to launch the use of HSBC's new “Green Credit Card”.

The "green credit card" is made of environment-friendly materials and uses digital bills to cut down paper consumption. Also, every transaction will contribute to a local environmental protection project.

DiCaprio said, “This pioneering initiative will enable people of Hong Kong to make their own green mark each and every day.”

Meanwhile, DiCaprio also attended the premier of his film, The 11th Hour in Hong Kong. The documentary aims to address the need to protect our environment.

It is a sad day for the Aquino clan and the whole Philippines.

Former President Corazon Aquino was diagnosed with Cancer. Her daughter Kris Aquino confirmed in a statement about the bad news.

Kris said in a press conference that her mother is suffering from colon cancer.

The former president decided to release a statement regarding her health condition.

The family especially Kris became emotional asking for prayers, they also asked the public and the media to respect Mrs Aquino's privacy.

Aquino's family statement:
"Our mother had suffered from an episode of high blood pressure and difficulty in breathing followed by fever during the week in between Christmas and New Year. Since that time, we became concerned because of her consistent cough, loss of appetite and noticeable weight loss.

"Our mom wanted to know what was wrong with her, and with her family by her side, she submitted herself to a check-up and several tests. The results showed that our mother is suffering cancer of the colon," the younger Aquino read from a prepared statement.

"It's a very difficult time for our family, most especially for our mother. We respectfully ask that she be accorded her privacy.

"Our mom remains a believer in the power of prayer. We ask for your compassion and for your prayers for our mother's recovery".

Hey guys,

Happy Easter! I hope you are all painting eggs, rolling eggs and eating lots of chocolate bunnies!

Sorry it’s been all quiet on the western front. I’ve been so busy in Mexico finishing up Dragonball but we just wrapped yesterday so I JUST got home and this is my first opportunity in front of my computer to write to you. It’s been nuts for about a month and a half working nights (on a schedule of about 5pm-8am) outside, but our spirits have been high and it was such a blast. I’ve missed writing to you but I’ve been exhausted after coming home from work early in the morning. I’m finally home (at least for a few weeks) and it’s a mixture of happy and sad. Wrapping a movie is kind of like the end of school, you miss all your friends that you’ve bonded with so much but you are eager for a little rest and a break from all the hard work. I’ll be starting work on something else in 3 weeks so I wont have much time to rest but I’m really looking forward to the simple things that I can enjoy while being home, getting to see my friends, sleeping in my own bed, hanging out with my puppies (who are growing so fast!) and eating at my favorite restaurants.

On another note, due to some personal things that have been going on with my family, I’m getting involved in a new charitable outreach that I’ll be able to tell you about soon. It’s something really close to my heart so I hope to share that with you and raise awareness as much as we can.
I worked out how to video blog (bear with me, please) so I’ll be sending you something later this week.

Asian hit TV drama "Winter Sonata" (2002), will be remade in a animated version.

South Korea's Key East and Japan's Total Promotion, will co-produced a 26-part TV series and as a theatrical feature. This animated project will target the entire Asian market.

Winter Sonata lead star Bae Yong-joon is dubbing the voice of the character that made him famous.

The preview of the animated series as well as a video message from Bae will be screened during a press conference at Tokyo International Animation Fair on March 28.

This new educational show will be hosted by Kim Atienza (viewers know him as Kuya Kim). Kim is the anchor of the weather segment in TV Patrol. He is also the son of former Mania Mayor Lito Atienza and now he is being dubbed as the "Steve Irwin" of the Philippines.

Like the GMA show "Born to be Wild", both shows will promote environmentalism to Pinoy viewers.

I just disagree in one aspect, No disrespect to Kim Atienza but comparing Steve Irwin to him is way to out. Steve Irwin's achievement is a mile away than Kim.

District commander of the PNP ASG Col. Efren Labiang said that the actor has no proper documents to carry the ammunitions.

It's a baby girl for the Bond Girl Halle Berry as she gave birth at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles on Sunday at 10:17 a.m., March 16.

This is the first child for Halle who is now 41 year-old and boyfriend Gabriel Aubry. The baby weighed in at 7lbs 4oz. Her rep. says "[Halle and baby] doing great".

According to star, "Halle had come to the hospital at 4am in the morning because the felt like she was going into labor. It was a bit scary because her blood pressure was skyrocketing and everyone was a little tense. She's a diabetic so that was complicating matters as well. The doctors checked the fetal heart rate and everything seemed okay. After a while Halle's blood pressure came down. She wasn't dilating anymore so at around 2:45pm they let her go home.

"Halle felt her contractions come on a lot more intensely later that night so she came back to the hospital at 11:00pm Saturday night.

"Halle was overcome with emotion when she finally held her little girl. She said everything she had gone through was worth that moment. The tears kept coming as Halle didn't even want the nurses to take her baby to clean her up and measure. It was a truly beautiful scene."

The friendly cat Doraemon was appointed by Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs as its first "Anime Ambassador." He will appear in commercial ads and films overseas to promote Japan's culture.

Doraemon television series stills airs in different parts of Asia like the Philippines. Penname Fujiko F. Fujio created this futuristic cat.

Yuko Hotta from Japan's foreign ministry said "By appointing Doraemon, we hope people in other countries will understand Japanese anime better and deepen their interest in Japanese culture".

Doraemon who travels back to the present to give a helping hand to a schoolboy, Nobita Nobi.

An improvement on primetime rankings for GMA's new koreanovela "The Legend" starring Bae Yong Joon. The action fantasy series pilot episode last Monday March 10, 2008 has entered the Top 10 and rank no. 5 in primetime programming with 31.5 percent rating. Now, "The Legend" period drama series climbs in the number 4 spot.

From 7th to the 10th spot in the primetime block goes to ABS-CBN's Kung Fu Kids, TV Patrol World, Lobo and Palos respectively.

GMA-7's Eat Bulaga still conquers the daytime programming.

This is based on the overnight ratings conducted by AGB Nielsen Media Research Philippines among Mega Manila households.

Just few more hours, the number one primetime show in the Philippines will bid farewell to their loyal viewers. On their last episode tonight, GMA's Marimar(remake) will showcase the grand wedding of Marimar (Marian Rivera) and Sergio Santibañez (Dingdong Dantes)in a special two hour presentation.

The wedding ceremony was shot in San Agustin Church, Intramuros, Manila, last March 10, 2008 and it will be shown tonight plus the live wedding reception at Studio 3 in GMA Network Center.

Marimar reached an all-time high at 49.5 percent rating last November 16, 2007 and expected to climb up to the 50+ percent mark.

Is it a goodbye to Jojo Alejar's "Sobrang Gudnite Show"?

I've been watching this late night show everyday since last year and it's a good alternative to watch. The show that airs every night at 11:00 p.m. gave viewers some laughs together with informative topics before they sleep and it also give opportunity to new artist.

Since Monday the "Sobrang Gudnite Show" is airing replays and has stopped taping new episodes for the said shows. Reportedly, the talk show is encountering financial problem and in need of Advertisers sponsorship.

Jojo A. was interview by Yugel Losorata and said that the host is remain optimistic that they will be able to resolve the problem.

Jojo said, "We’ll be airing replays in the next weeks and we’re still not sure whether we can continue the show because of lack of sponsors. We don’t have a problem with the ratings and we’re receiving good feedbacks naman from the viewers. Pero since block timer kami and hindi masyado pumapasok ang mga sponsors, we’re experiencing problems pagdating sa finances."

Many late night viewers will be disappointed if this show will bid goodbye this early.

Every year the Binibining Pilipinas beauty pageant event is always controversial and full of drama. This year the controversy centers to the newly crowned Bb. Pilipinas-World Janina San Miguel.

Critics are questioning her win and her bad grammar in the question and answer portion of the said event. Janina's Q&A clip in YouTube become a blooper hit and now she is being dubbed as the new "junior Melanie Marquez".

In a recent interview, she defends herself and answers back her critics. Janina admitted that she is nervous and that she didn’t quite heard the question. She said that if the question was thrown at her today, her answer would be, “Well, they serve as my inspiration.”

A pleasant news to the children of Africa.

The "Charlie's Angels" star Drew Barrymore becomes a true angel. Drew an ambassador against hunger donated $1 million to the World Food Program to help feed children in Africa.

She announced the news on The Oprah Winfrey Show to start the "Fill the Cup" campaign that aims to feed hungry school children in developing countries.

The "Music and Lyrics" star traveled to Kenya twice in the past two years for WFP.

"I have seen with my own eyes what a difference a simple cup of nutritious porridge can make in a child's life," Drew added, "It helps them learn, stay healthy and sets them on track for a bright future. I urge everyone -- everywhere -- to help WFP 'Fill the Cup' for hungry children, and make hunger history," she said in a statement released by the agency.
