No more charges for R&B singer Brandy after the fatal car accident last year.

A spokesperson said there is "insufficient evidence" for a jury to find the 28-year-old singer guilty of misdemeanour vehicular manslaughter beyond a reasonable doubt.

Decemeber 30, 2006 accident :
Brandy was driving on a Los Angeles freeway when her Land Rover smashed into the back of a Honda and was involved in several other collisions. The driver, 38-year-old Awatef Aboudihaj, died in the accident.

UPDATE :
Brandy’s lawyer has issued a statement to TMZ
"We are extremely pleased that after a more thorough and extensive investigation by authorities, the Los Angeles City Attorney has determined that Brandy Norwood should not be charged with any crime whatsoever relating to the accident back in 2006."

She continued, "These past 12 months have posed an extraordinary hardship for Brandy and her family, who have been unfairly forced to live under a cloud of suspicion initially caused by the ill-advised and premature press release sent out by the California Highway Patrol accusing Brandy of wrongdoing before the police investigation was even finished. However, Brandy continues to be mindful that she was so fortunate to be uninjured in this accident and there was a life lost that should be remembered."

In their eight years of marriage, Cesar Montano and Sunshine Cruz are always on the Celebrity Breakups rumor news.

On the Ricky Lo entertainment column, Sunshine Cruz with her three kids confirmed that they left their home.

And the rumored reason for their separation is the Brazilian model Marianna del Rio, from Samba corned beef TV ad.

That’s all that Sunshine Cruz said when Funfare talked to her Thursday night, reacting to the Funfare “blind item” about a beautiful couple who broke up on Christmas Day.

“Yes,” Sunshine continued, “I did leave home in the afternoon of Christmas Day, with my three daughters. I was fetched at home by my mom and my brother.”

Sunshine didn’t comment, though, on Funfare’s report that she and husband Cesar Montano fought over a 16-year-old Brazilian model who sometimes drops by Bellisimo restaurant which is owned by the couple. Neither did Sunshine comment on the rumored exchange of “hurting” words between her and Cesar.

“I don’t want to say anything more for now,” said Sunshine who is staying with her mom for the meantime, as she always does everytime she and Cesar have a misunderstanding.

“All I want is a little respect,” she repeated.

It’s not the first time the couple, married eight years, has been reported to have separated.

Mischa Barton was released after she posted bail at West Hollywood Sheriff’s station.

According to Lieutenant Honings of the West Hollywood Sheriff’s office, the former star of The O.C. “was stopped at 2:46 a.m. and arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of illegal narcotics and driving without a valid license.”

Barton was released after posting $10,000 dollar bond at around 10 a.m. and the investigation is still considered ongoing.

2007 is a bad year for rapper-actor DMX. He was dropped from Sony Music, arrested for driving violations, 12 emaciated pitbulls removed from his home in Arizona and many more...

Next year is a different story. Online gaming company Bodog Entertainment signed DMX for a recording contract. Bodog is planning in releasing two albums for the rap star next year.

DMX told Billboard, "I'm thankful for the fact that Bodog believes in me," "We share the same vision and the fact that they see in me the same thing I see. I'll show Bodog Music how it's supposed to be done, and we'll get to where we're supposed to be. You got a dog for life."

Ali G. and Kazakhstani reporter BORAT is DEAD. He was killed by his creator Sacha Baron Cohen today in London. Pamela Anderson is surely in deep mourning about the news.

No more singing and wrestling a fat guy for Borat.

Sacha Baron Cohen tells The Daily Telegraph that he’s retiring the clueless Kazakh journalist, as well as his alter ego, aspiring rapper Ali G.

“When I was being Ali G and Borat I was in character sometimes 14 hours a day and I came to love them, so admitting I am never going to play them again is quite a sad thing,” the 36-year-old actor-comedian says in the British newspaper’s Friday edition.

“It is like saying goodbye to a loved one. It is hard, and the problem with success, although it’s fantastic, is that every new person who sees the Borat movie is one less person I `get’ with Borat again, so it’s a kind of self-defeating form, really.”

He is now working on his "Bruno" character (a flamboyant gay Austrian fashion reporter) for a scripted comedy.

Plot:

Box office star director Stephen Chow with his upcoming scifi comedy CJ7 releases their latest movie poster.

PLOT :
Chow plays a man who lives in a partly demolished house. He takes in a homeless boy (who is actually played by a girl, Xu Jiao). Whether the semi-demolished house and the homeless boy are on Earth, or on the alien planet is not clear. As Chow’s character can’t afford to buy a toy for the child, he finds a makeshift toy in the garbage and brings it back to his “son”. The “toy” is actually a powerful alien device and the aliens are desperate to get it back. Some rumors state that it is a “pet” rather than a “toy”.

Stephen Chow confessed that the new film shows his long-time respect for US director Steven Spielberg. That's why the plot of "CJ7" echoes works of his such as "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" (1977) and "E.T" (1982).

Ara Mina's decision to transfer or to work in ABS-CBN is not a bad idea. She is a freelance artist with no exclusive contract with the any networks. She can sing and act, a total package of an artist.

But....

I'm scratching my head right now, it is a really a bad choice and decision in joining the cast of "Prinsesa ng Banyera".

The banyera drama series is too boring to watch. I don't think her inclusion to the drama series will boost the ratings. Ara's acting talent will go to waste.

There are reports that she has a "tampo" with GMA-7 because she is not being prioritized by her home network.

Yesterday at UBER, Some pig buyers are interested in buying the house piglets. The housemates did not agree with that idea.

Big Brother gave a chance to the housemates to save their piglets by selling their paintings in a home TV shopping style.

They must be able to raise the Php 20k amount to save the piglets from being sold, and the money will be donated to a non-profit organization.

In a live camera, the housemates wearing a Filipino costumes described their art works to all interested buyers. The first art work that was sold was the painting of Ms. Gaby Dela Merced. the title of her art work is "Liwayway" featuring her piglet Porkchop and sold for Php 5,000.

More than 1,500 dancing inmates really entertain the world and made a mark in the internet world.

Time magazine listed the Cebu inmates as the no. 5 in the top ten most watchable Internet videos for 2007.

Inmates inside the Cebu provincial jail in southern Philippines, performing their version of Michael Jackson's 1980's hit "Thriller", is said to be one of "most popular viral videos" of the year, or the "web clips we couldn't stop watching."

Time Magazine described the Cebu inmates performance as depicting "Orange-jumpsuited accused murderers, rapists and drug dealers paid homage to Michael Jackson's Thriller in a dance performance filmed at the Cebu Detention and Rehabilitation Center in the Philippines."

The inmates dance video has been downloaded more than nine million times.

GMA Network strongly denied their participation in tampering of TV raings.

In a statement GMA said, "strongly denies the baseless accusation that it is behind the ratings rigging alleged by an unnamed ABS-CBN informant."

GMA Network strongly denies the baseless accusation that it is behind the ratings rigging alleged by an unnamed ABS-CBN informant

Apart from being improbable, the informant’s claims as bandied about by ABS-CBN – is also not logical.

GMA Network’s ratings in the provinces - particularly in the Visayas and Mindanao – have not had any significant improvement since July of 2007 when it started to subscribe to the ratings of AGB. If there were any involvement in the alleged tampering of panel homes in the area by GMA Network, then its ratings there should have experienced significant increases.

GMA does not conduct manipulative promo efforts anywhere in the country. What it does is conduct legitimate field promo activities that are not deliberately directed at panel homes but at the general television population of a certain locality.

While GMA Network promotes heavily in the Visayas and Mindanao, ABS-CBN does even more aggressive and wide scale promos in these areas.

GMA has been spending considerable amounts of money to strengthen its signal, expand its reach and for legitimate promos to promote its programs in the Visayas and Mindanao. GMA values integrity and hardwork as reflected by the credibility of its programs and its corporate core values. It is not GMA’s style to play dirty. GMA programs are preferred and trusted by viewers in Luzon, Mega Manila and Metro Manila as proven by the ratings. A trial by publicity is not only unfair and damaging to GMA Network but also to its millions of loyal viewers.

Also, for more than four years now, GMA Network has been complaining to AGB about the very big, highly illogical and unexplainable disparity between the cable and non-cable ratings of GMA’s programs. ABS-CBN’s programs do not exhibit such disparity.

It is only in the Philippines that the ratings of programs on non-cable or free TV households exhibit a very different behavior from the cable households. Coincidentally, the Philippines is also the only country in the world where a competing free-to-air TV station also operates or controls the dominant cable company. The owners of ABS-CBN directly or indirectly operate the country’s largest cable company.

GMA Network has been sending letters to AGB long before ABS-CBN’s complaint and these letters show how much the Network wants to find out if there are indeed irregularities in the ratings data gathering process. GMA cited that ABS-CBN - through the dominant cable operator - can gain undue advantage because cable personnel, in the course of their work, can come across which homes AGB Nielsen has placed its meters.

GMA is determined to get at the bottom of this allegation.

GMA reserves the right to take such action as may be warranted, to protect its interests and reputation.

Happiness and smiles are seen on families and sick children's of Sydney Children’s Hospital who watch the special screening of the film "The Golden Compass" hosted by Nicole Kidman.

“This is a small gesture and I would just like to say I wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year,” she said. “I play a villain in this film, so to all the little kids – don’t stay.”

Nicole kidman gave an extra special Christmas present to five long-term patients and their families.

“We’re deeply grateful to Nicole for her constant generosity,” foundation CEO Elizabeth Crundall said. “For many of the children attending this screening it will be a rare and welcome break from fighting a serious illness in hospital. Nicole’s ongoing support, kindness and dedication is extraordinary.”

On the pregnancy news being a shock to her and Casey: “It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected. I was in complete and total shock and so was he.”

On keeping the news to herself when she first found out: “As soon as I found out for sure from the doctor, I took two weeks to myself where I didn’t tell anybody. Only one of my friends knew because I needed to work out what I would do for myself before I let anyone’s opinion affect my decision. Then I told my parents and my friends. I was scared, but I had to do what was right for me.”

On her mother not liking the news of her pregnancy: “[My mom Lynne] was very upset because it wasn’t what she expected at all. A week after, she had time to cope with it and became very supportive.”

On her future with Nickelodeon series Zoey 101: “I haven’t spoken to (Nickelodeon) personally, but they have always been so great to me over the past years and have given me so many opportunities.”

On the message she’s sending to other teens about premarital sex: “I definitely don’t think it’s something you should do; it’s better to wait. But I can’t be judgmental because it’s a position I put myself in.”

This will be mom Lynne’s third grandchild (Britney has two young sons herself). “I didn’t believe it because Jamie Lynn’s always been so conscientious,” Lynne says. “She’s never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby.”

In the height of TV Ratings tampering issue against AGB Nielsen Media Research Philippines, the "Wilyonaryo" controversial/scam segment from WoWowee resurface again.

Yesterday at EAT BULAGA, Joey and Vic announced that televiewers must visit the video-sharing site YouTube if they want to know the truth about the latest controversy.

Many thought it is about the current TV ratings issue but it turns out to be a new evidence against Channel 2's show Wowowee.

YouTube registered users "absmadaya" and "gaboikent" uploaded a video showing rehearsal of Wowowee. Willie and his crew is rehearsing in opening and closing the cover of a single gold wheel with 2 numbers (whether 5 or 0). A great possibility that they can choose who will win the prize or lose the prize.

A technical staff member of the show puts a gold wheel in the middle and Willie tells him, "Masikip talaga." The male staff member makes adjustments and helps him "operate" the gold wheel. Willie rehearses changing the number inside the gold circle. He opens the flap to reveal a portion of the number that makes it undeniably a number five, but then he closes the flap again and it appears to be the straight edge of a totally different number. But when Willie pulls it off completely, it is again a number five.

In the first scenario, Willie opens the gold wheel revealing a number 5, indicating that the contestant wins P500,000. The co-hosts and the backup dancers all rejoice at the good fortune. As the video continues, they also rehearse the scenario wherein a number zero is revealed using the same gold wheel. The contestant loses, to everyone's dismay.

"Wilyonaryo" is the controversial segment wherein Willie accidentally showed the wrong number in the jackpot portion of the August 20 episode of the noontime show. It also started the word war between Willie and fellow TV host Joey de Leon of rival program Eat Bulaga. The Kapamilya network explained that the mistake was a result of a "technical glitch." By October, Wowowee discontinued the segment and replaced it with the "Merrygalo" segment.

When asked to comment about this rehearsal video, ABS-CBN Corporate Communications Head Bong Osorio told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), "That's an old issue. That has been going on for months, it stopped...We don't know why it's resurfacing. It's an old issue. It has been discussed lengthily in the tabloids, TV, and afternoon programs. It has quietly taken a back seat until this afternoon."

Diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, songwriter/singer Dan Fogelberg has died at the age of 56.

Dan left us this morning at 6:00am . He fought a brave battle with cancer and died peacefully at home in Maine with his wife Jean at his side. His strength, dignity, and grace in the face of the daunting challenges of this disease were an inspiration to all who knew him.

Fogelberg was famous for such hit songs as “Leader of the Band,” "Hard to Say," and “Same Old Lang Syne.”

Dan message to men to do a preventive measure and be aware:

To each and every man....

I cannot encourage you strongly enough to get a DRE (Digital Rectal Exam) and a PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) test EVERY YEAR.

The medical community suggests this for men over 50, but men with a family history of prostate cancer should start getting tested at age 40.

The PSA test is a simple blood test...it only takes a minute or two. The DRE, okay, every man squirms at the thought of this exam, but hey, it too takes only a minute or two, and IT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE.

The season two winner of the Singapore Idol Hady Mirza wins the first ASIAN IDOL in Jakarta. He beats Idol contestant winners from the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia and India.

He performed 2 song, Beautiful Day of U2 and Berserah Taufik Batisah.
Many are saying he is an underdog in this competition. His txt fan base is much higher than expected. Even the judges didn't expect or predicted that Hady will win.

Hady Mirza said, "The pressure I think is that it's going to be shown across six countries. I started off being quite nervous. But then, as we went along, it was fine and I did pretty well. I think I did pretty well and I'm happy with my performance."

SHAKE, RATTLE and ROLL 9 is the only horror film entry in this year Metro Manila Film Festival.

Regal producer Lily Monteverde combined artist from the two giant network, ABS-CBN and GMA 7 to chill our festive moods.

Showing on Chrismas Day are three(3) stories that will rattle your holiday.

The first episode, "Christmas Tree," tells the bone-rattling story of a family who spends a Christmas break at their grandmother's house after recovering from a painful tragedy. As they happily celebrate their warm reunion, the eerie Christmas tree in the living room watches them with unblinking, bloodthirsty eyes, waiting for the right moment to turn each family member into its grand Christmas feast.

Director Paul Daza marks "Christmas Tree" as his feature-film debut. He also co-wrote the script of this segment with Fairlane Raymundo and Enzo Valdez. Nash Aguas (2006 MMFF Best Child Actor) plays the brave Stephen who discovers the key to stop the Christmas tree. Other who complete the cast are John Prats, John "Sweet" Lapus, Nash Aguas, Gina Alajar, Tonton Gutierrez, Boots Anson Roa, Sophia Baars, and Lovi Poe.

The second episode, "Bangungot," spins a daunting horror-suspense thriller about unrequited love. Young and beautiful Marionne (Roxanne Guinoo) is helplessly in love with the ultra-serious Jerome (Dennis Trillo) who is already engaged to Florence (Pauleen Luna). As Marionne decides to confront Jerome, a red-cloaked phantom traps them both into a twilight- zone nightmare that leads to an unexpected fatal twist.

Director Michael Tuviera (Lupin, The Promise, TXT, Shake Rattle and Roll 8: "LRT Episode") will helm the first team up of Dennis Trillo and Roxanne Guinoo for the silver screen. Also joining in the cast are Pauleen Luna, Jaymee Joaquin, Jayson Gainza, and newcomer Andrea Torres.

For the spine-chilling finale, "Engkanto" tells the uncanny tale of a teenage gothic band heading for a gig in a remote province. Unfortunately, they find themselves lost in a forest, forcing them to take refuge in an abandoned resort. Unknown to them they have trespassed the territory of the stunningly tempting Engkanto (Katrina Halili) who has menacingly bound them in an inescapable deathly spell.

Screenwriter Andrew Paredes brilliantly teams up with horror filmmaker, Topel Lee (Shake Rattle and Roll 8: "Yaya Episode," Ouija,) to drive viewers in an unrelenting horrific ride. Engkanto's cast includes Matt Evans, Mart Escudero, Melissa Ricks, Jewel Mische, Felix Roco, Sam Concepcion, Jojo Alejar, Hector Macaso, and Katrina Halili.

Ace York Aguilar, his real name, was known for bad boy image on his onscreen roles.

Ace Vergel was also linked to illegal drugs and was charge for rape but the charges against him were dismissed.

ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. sued AGB Nielsen Media Research Philippines for tampering the survey results in Television Ratings.

They called this illegal act as "a systematic, organized and well funded attempt" to monopolize the ratings.

ABS-CBN present an informant that tells about the alleged bribery of metered households and breach of contract and for failing to keep as confidential information on metered households.

ABS-CBN channel 2 filed a P63 million civil suit against AGB Nielsen after it continued to release the weekly TV ratings even after the informant met with AGB Nielsen officials.

"The Filipino people and the entire media industry deserve to know the truth. We in ABS-CBN have discovered what can only be viewed as a systematic, organized and well funded attempt to cheat in the ratings," ABS-CBN Chairman and CEO Eugenio Lopez III said in a statement.

"The accuracy of the ratings of the TV programs is of utmost importance not only to the TV stations but also to the advertisers, ad agencies, and the viewing public," a statement by GMA.

Many are surprise about the standing of Maging Sino Ka man (Book 2)in ratings.

Madonna will add another title to her successful career,the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Madonna with Canadian singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen, British Band The Dave Clark Five, John Mellencamp and California surf rock instrumentalists The Ventures was announced the new inductees for 2008 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

A panel of 600 industry figures selected the five inductees. To be eligible, artists must have issued a first single or album at least 25 years before nomination.

Madonna, age 49 still rocks and has sold more than 200 million albums worldwide and her 2006 Confessions Tour holds the record for the top-grossing concert tour by a female artist.

"The 2008 inductees are trailblazers—all unique and influential in their genres," Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation President and CEO Joel Peresman said in a statement. "From poetry to pop, these five acts demonstrate the rich diversity of rock and roll itself."

The twenty-third annual induction ceremony will take place at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York City on March 10, 2008.

Gokusen got 17.4% rating in the first season in 2002, while the 2005 sequel averaged ratings of 28.0%.

The tribute for FPJ "Alay Ni Da King" posted a 20.4% rating. Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition 2 is sometimes in-or-out in the rating list.

The 2007 Lycra China Fashion Awards attracted more than 80 Asian celebrities from different fields including fashion, entertainment, sports and business.

"Fashion in 30 years" was the theme of this year's gala party, which paid tribute to those who have influenced the Chinese people's lifestyles over the past 30 years.

Hong Kong actress Angie Chiu was named the Chinese Fashion Artist of the Year. Musician Gackt and actor Lee Jun Ki were the Japanese and South Korean artist of the year, respectively.

Xia Yu and Vicki Zhao Wei (Chinese mainland), Anthony Wong Chau-Sang and Isabella Leong (Hong Kong), and Vic Zhou and Kwai Lun-Mei (Taiwan) received the Fashion Best Actor and Actress awards.

Taiwan musician Chyi Yu and Hong Kong veteran Lisa Wang Ming-Chuen, both long absent from the mainland audiences' eyes, made it to the ceremony to claim their awards for Fashion Tribute to Classical Figure, and Global Chinese Contribution, respectively.

Other musician winners included Lo Ta-yu (Fashion Music Contribution), Karen Mok (Fashion Outstanding Asian Singer), Leo Ku (Fashion Outstanding Asian Singer), and pop-rock band Mayday (Fashion Music Group).

Artists behind the scenes, such as photographer Wang Xiaohui, who received the Fashion Photographer award, were also recognized.

Taiwan theater director Stan Lai walked away with the Fashion Theatrical Contribution award for his widely-acclaimed three-woman show, "Total Woman."

It is after the Japanese governments sent a letter to the "Heroes " Star about the save the dolphins and whale mission.

Hayden Panettiere spoke about her Save the Whales campaign at the Forecast Earth Summit by The Weather Channel Friday night in Washington, D.C. She criticize the Japanese Government especially Fisheries Agency.

She told press, “To say that Japan is carefully managing marine living resources for the future is a joke...In regard to dolphins and whales, Japan’s blatant disregard for these species is unfathomable. Japan is cruelly and needlessly butchering over 20,000 dolphins and other small cetaceans every year...Your scientists can’t even tell the difference between a marine mammal and a fish. Do you realize how ignorant Japan looks to the rest of the world?”

Many are saying she is the new Angelina Jolie. And in people.com she said,"I would take that. She was definitely one of my inspirations growing up and she was definitely somebody I looked up to.”

A smashing hook finish the job. By the way Hatton hits his head on the corner post.

Floyd is using his elbows a little but hasn’t gotten caught… The pretty boy still the No. 1 pound for pound fighter of the world.

On Round 1, Hatton comes out aggressive. Floyd lands the first good shot of the fight, a left hook. Hatton lands a great shot and catches Floyd off balance, the crowd roars..Floyd almost went down but kept his feet. Hatton has been the more effective fighter in round one due to the pressure

Floyd is doing a much better job of keeping hatton off of him this round but he still looks very uncomfortable… Theres a lot of clenching and holdinig. The ref is warning both guys to stop holding and wrestling so much… Mayweather is holding more than Hatton is surprisingly.

Another battle is on the way for actress and scriptwriter Bibeth Orteza. She is a cancer survivor but there is another thing she must survive, Arroyo administration filed rebellion charges against her.

It is the failed coup attempt Senator Antonio Trillanes and General Danny Lim.

Orteza was among the civilians who answered the call of the rebels to come to the Peninsula Manila hotel and express their desire for President Arroyo to resign.

Orteza told reporters that she would rather die while fighting for her country instead of waiting for disease to kill her.

She doesn't regret joining the ranks of the rebels at the Peninsula Manila.
